Looking for Info on the Medford Square Cinema 1 & 2

MEDFORD, MA — I’m looking for any information anyone may have on the Medford Square Cinema 1 & 2. I went there often as a child, having seen quite a few of Disney’s original releases and re-releases in the early 1980s – ‘The Fox and the Hound’, ‘Tron’, and ‘Peter Pan’, among others — all in the upstairs (former balcony) auditorium.

The few details I have on the theater was that it was located at 36 Salem Street in Medford Square (the building is still standing to this day); underwent a modernization in the late 1960s, with most (if not all) of its original ornamentation stripped away or sealed off; and closed sometime around 1984.

Does anyone have any more definitive and/or additional information on the theater, its history, and its current state?
