Vintage Theater Seats For Sale

AMHERST, MA — We have approximately 550 vintage 1940s era Art Deco seats for sale. All are a nice bright red. They have heavy duty cast iron legs and arms, metal seat backs and buckets, and wooden arm rests. The cushions are leatherette (seats) and fabric (backs) and were re-upholstered in the 1980s.
Seats measure 19" x 19", with total back height 30" from floor. They are internally spring-loaded and fold when not in use. They have been taken apart into sets of 3 and 4. Condition is fair to good. We are asking $20 per seat, and will consider other offers, particularly if you take all of them.
All seats must be picked up in Amherst, Massachusetts. They are from the old Amherst Cinema, which is being renovated into a new 3-screen independent cinema plus retail and office space. The workers are stripping the walls, so we want to move fast!

I am now selling these seats for $5 each. If you are a nonprofit theater, you can have them for just $2 each. You must pick them up in Amherst MA. The sets (of 3 or 4 seats per set) are quite heavy and somewhat awkward.
You should move quickly if you want these, as they are starting to sell.

We are holding off on selling any more seats for now. We are considering having them stripped and reupholstered for re-use, instead of buying new seats. We won’t make the final decision for some months.
