Appalachian Cinema moving towards city ownership

BOONE, NC — Since closing four years ago, the Appalachian Cinema has been in a state of limbo. Things are looking better though as it appears the city will be able to purchase it and then turn it over to the Downtown Development Association. The plan then would be the restore it to its original grandeur and make it a performing arts center.
