Fain Theater for sale

WETUMPKA, AL — The gutted Fain is for sale, $150k. The structure itself is sound. Do a search of the theaters guide section for pics of the place. Also see the WAKA-TV website which featured a story on the place today. It opened in the 1930’s. Wetumpka is a sleepy town across the river from Montgomery. It was featured in the movie “Big Fish”. No other theaters in town, I don’t think. Looks like a really cool project for the energetic buyer!

Can anyone with expertise estimate for me — general ballpark figure — what it would cost to re-install angled floor (if needed) seats, screen, movie and sound equipment, stage and maybe balcony?

And the bigger, troubling question is: Would people come if such a theater offered a mix of movies, live music and dramatic performances? Can we pry people off their couches and big screen TVs?
