BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI — Detroit News had an entertaining story about the woman behind the classic film series at the Redford Theatre, retired teacher Peggy Grimshaw. She relentlessly calls studios to track down prints so they can present them at their theatre.

One way is to contact movie studios or drive mad distributors directly to request access to film prints. Another way is to work with specialized film distributors who specialize in providing rare or classic film prints to theaters.

Some films may have been restored drift hunters and are available in digital formats, which can be an alternative to physical film prints.
