Still one of the best theaters in the area. Nice large screens and comfortable reclining seats. Customer service is quite poor though and it’s annoying when you have to walk all the way upstairs for concessions if your theater is on the lower level.

Lol did the kid get arrested for doing it? I bet he didn’t want to go back. Happy belated 30th, AMC!!!

Didn’t see a lot of films here, but vividly remember getting a kid booted out of DARKMAN for throwing his soda at the screen.

I never been to this AMC although Fluffy has become a mainstay of this place since it opened nearly 30 years ago. Since it became an AMC, more people have come to this theater for the recliners and coke freestyle machines. Yes, parking is a hassle compared to what you find in Rockaway with ample parking that is shared with other stores and getting there is bad with the traffic.

When Clearview use to operate this theatre, I was the screen cleaner for them. I hated going to this theatre as parking was a disaster, especially when I had to haul up cleaning supplies and such. And yes the theatres are on 2 levels, and you cannot get from one to the other. Since I use to go in after the theatre closed, it was sometimes a 2 day trip because if I got onto one level, I couldn’t get to the other one. Was never a fan of this place.

I never been to this theater before but I heard if you drive a car to park near there, you pay like $20+ to validate your parking space so you have to keep the ticket. There are two levels in the building for each 5 screens. Prices are typical AMC.

Is it true that they made a few screens much larger than before? Are the biggest ones now as large as Rockaway’s largest?

they still have the clearview sign near the parking garage. I commented on AMC’s facebook page to remove it.

This theater is no longer owned by Clearview Cinemas but this theater was taken it over by AMC.

The Clearview sign is no longer on the exterior and a giant amc logo is on the top of the building.

When did they put in reserved seating? I noticed that on showtimes on fandango. I noticed that there’s still clearview signs near the building and an AMC sign near the parking lot.

AMC Headquarters 10 first phase is complete. The upper level is totally revamped. Theatres 1-5 are comprised of red leather recliners. The restrooms have new tile and casework while also adding hand dryers to become more eco-friendly. The concession stand has a more futuristic feel especially with the Coke Freestyle machines, that give you 100 plus flavored sodas of choice. One more thing to add, there is wall to wall new carpeting.

This weekend The Lego Movie is in 3D and every screen is digital according to fandango while renovations are being one on a few screens. The exterior of the building still has the clearview sign, right? They should put back the AMC logo near the theatres sign.

No improvements as of yet – in fact some minor downgrades currently (no soda fountains, not sure if that’ll be the case until they install the Coke Freestyle machines with the upgrade). The theaters are currently showing 35MM (they may have two digital houses from Clearview remaining but I don’t know – we saw a movie in 35MM, no pre-show or AMC branding – just one trailer and the movie…wish it was always this simple). A packed house too with a sold out crowd for American Hustle.

The good news is we were warmly greeted by the one and only Fluffy – – very glad to see him!

East hanover needs some enhancement…it should be a dine in theater.

Well at least half of my comment from May 21st was correct. AMC is taking it over again. I know I had gotten the info from a reliable source. Will just wait and see if the other half about East Hanover holds true.
