Obviously, nothing ever changes there. Todd Blood doesn’t care about anyone but himself, AND, he’s too cowardly to comment in this forum. If this guy is LDS, he sure doesn’t show it. I’ve worked with LDS folks for years. Their checks never bounce and if something is wrong, they do their best to right it. There is a moral balance that doesn’t seem to be present here.

Relating to my post of March 31, 2005, I still haven’t received my promised 3 tickets. So folks, I think it’s time someone got a spanking or a timeout. As I always say, “Spare the rod, spoil the thankless theatre owner.” The only thing we can do is to not go to this theatre, or any other Captain Blood theatre, until Toddy boy gets his customer service poop together.

Oh yes, and don’t forget kiddies, tell EVERYONE you know, unless they’re masochists, and don’t like a decent movie experience.

A friend and I went to the 8:45pm showing of “Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit” at Captain Blood’s in Orange tonight. The film stopped abruptly halfway through the credits and the house lights came on. Ordinarily this would be no big deal, except that a couple of the movie reviews mentioned there was a funny Humane Society bit following the credits, so of course we were expecting to see it.

We went out to the lobby and told one of the employees that the movie ended early. She said we saw the whole movie; we only missed the credits. I explained there was a bit after the credits, so she told us to go back in the theater and they’d try to fix it.

After waiting for several minutes, they told us the film had played all the way to the end while we were out in the lobby, so there was nothing they could do. All we got was a “sorry, have a nice night” — but no offer to reimburse us for our incomplete viewing experience. I would have appreciated a pass or something so I could come back and see how the movie ended.

My experience is similar to what other people have posted here: mainly, employees who don’t care whether their patrons are completely satisfied with their movie-going experience.

What a shame that a theater with such great potential is being managed this way.

Just went to see the Fantastic 4 in Orange in Theater 2. First of all this theater seats only 34!!! The aspect ratio was all screwed up and the picture was all streched out and funny looking (like a fun-house mirror). We walked out after about 5 minutes. We complained to the person up front and she offered us comp tickets or our money back.

It was nice of them to offere free tickets but we would have just prefered they fix the problem – which they said they could not do – why would they sell tickets to a film they know is not projecting corectly?

On another note, Theater 2 was FILTHY and covered in God only knows what. Semen and Coca-Cola resedue come to mind (Shudder).

That sounds exactly like everybody’s favorite, Marcus, or maybe his evil twin. Apparently Mr. Blood still values his employees, bad as they are, over his customers. The only way to remedy this is to not give him your business. Take it to an AMC or anywhere else.

It’s really a shame that a man who says he’s trying to revive the “Mom & Pop” side of the movie theatre business, is actually doing it irreparable harm. I notice Mr. Blood hasn’t responded to ANY of the negative comments posted here, nor has he done anything to resolve the issues discussed here.
Rather telling. Hmmm?

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I went on Memorial day to the ORANGE theatre and had an awful experience with the boy/guy that sells the tickets. He was rude,pushy,and arrogant. He even told us to go to another theatre. NOT A GOOD WORKER. Even the moment he saw us he rolled his eyes. RACISM? maybe. We were all hispanic Santa Ana College students. We are all into movies, so we decided to drive and see a movie.NEVER,NEVER,NEVER AGAIN.FIRST AND LAST TIME.

Well, contrary to the story posted above, I had an excellent experience at the theter in Orange.

I went to see the opening of Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones and we were greeted personally by the owner (or Manager, I don’t ermember which) when he stood befre the audience and thanked us for coming.

There were fog machines, a little laser lighting and some other fun (in a silly way) introductions, but the experience was far mor personable than in a chain. I felt a genuine, shared love of film and a connection with the people running the place that I would never get from an AMC or other large chain.

Although, I am afraid to ask what “LDS Movies” means in the above post…(I’m hoping it doesn’t mean they play religous propaganda in the theater)

We had a horrible experience during the holiday season at this theatre. We took our son to see The Polar Express. The Asst. Manager Marcus, or so he told us, happily sold us our tickets. We went inside and for the first 15 minutes the sound was occasional at best, often silent for a minute at a time. We went out to ask for our money back. Marcus told us he couldn’t do that because there was nothing wrong with the film. We said the sound was all messed up, and he said he was aware of that but that it would be fine from here on out. At that point, we had already missed nearly 20 minutes of the film, but this rude, snotty jerk just stood there and told us he wouldn’t give us our money back.

We asked why he’d sold us the tickets if he knew there was a problem, he again said there was no problem from this point on in the film.

When we demanded our money, he said no and told us if we continued to stand there and argue with him in front of “his customers”, he would call the police. Customers? What the hell were we? After another 20 minutes, we finally got Todd Blood’s phone number out of him. At this point, he told us he was in no fear for his job, and that he was confident Mr. Blood would side with him.

We thought that was ridiculous. We were wrong.

We called his number on the way home and got a machine. Several days later no call back, so we called again and got him on the line. After 10 minutes of him agreeing and telling me how bad an employee Marcus was, (why wasn’t he fired?????), and how he had transferred him from the Brea theatre because of his attitude, he then launched into a tirade against his CUSTOMERS. He told me how horrible they were, how disrespectful, ungrateful, stupid, etc., they were. Wow, what a caring guy!

He finally agreed to send us 3 tickets to replace our lost evening, and said Marcus would be terminated forthwith.

Now, more than three months later, no tickets, no communication, nothing. As far as Marcus is concerned, I don’t know. I’ll cal tomorrow and see if he’s still there. If so, I’ll report it here.

Later that same week, I went to the AMC 20 theatres in Fullerton. They failed to show the credits after a film, and when I mentioned it in passing to an employee, she asked me to wait, and went to get a manager. The manager insisted I take movie passes for the 3 of us because my theatrical experience had been compromised. I told her it was OK, and that we just wanted them to be aware of the problem.

Folks, This guy doesn’t give a flying @?&%* about us, the customers, who keep his pockets lined with Franklins.
Do not give him your business, because he’ll just give you the business.

The promises that Todd Blood makes would materialize if it was not all BS. He is a professional in the way he runs his franchise. He is a professional in the way that he has learned how to manipulate and steal from his employees to live lavishly.

I love the charm and setting of the Captain Blood Theater in Orange. It is small and fun with a great atmosphere…plus it is cheap. I am planning to go see Shrek tonight here to avoid the cost and the crowds. Keep up the work you do, Orange County appreciates reasonably priced entertainment in a more than enjoyable setting. Last time we were there they ran out of made popcorn and delivered it right to our seats. How great is that!!! :) Long live Captian Blood!

I visited the Woodbridge a few months back, and was not impressed. The screens are still a fixed 2:1 aspect ratio, cropping every movie that is shown. One of the auditoriums is still mono, even!

Captin Blood just a note to let you know how much we appriciate the effort you are making to bring good movies to the southland, we went to see cheeper by the dozen earlier tonight 1/30/04 we were really upset by the laxidazical attitude of the employees, the rest rooms were a mess and those working seemed like they were not in a hurry to do anything. we want your project to survive, we travel past 6 theaters just to support you please accept this in the way it was sent I am a business owner and would want to be told if things were not up to my standard.

Hey what’s up. I’m a film student at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, and we are currently trying to procure a location for an upcoming film festival we are putting on. I got your name from the post production coordinator at my work, and he said that you guys may allow us to use your facility. If you wouldnt mind e-mailing me back with more information, i would greatly appreciate it. Obviously if there are any school discounts you can give, that would help us out greatly. We can assure about 250 people in attendance, and with concessions open, im sure you wouldnt make oout to poorly on the deal. the date were shooting for is jan 30, 2004 for any 2 hour block, preferably 7-9. i look forward to hearing from you.
