I believe that the Tivoli in Downers Grove and the Ogden 6 in Naperville (both Classic Cinemas) charge only $3.00.
To Catherine: Besides the LaGrange and the Buffalo Grove, the Bensenville and the Silver Cinemas in Joliet (not advertised in the Chicago Tribune or Sun-Times) are the only second-run theaters around.

To Catherine: It will take me a long, but well worth-it journey to get my corporation started. And yes, I belive the Bloomingdale & The Patio would make great 2nd run houses. I have a plan that would add 2 screens to the Patio. Don’t worry, it won’t put the balcony in any danger. I belive there is some space above the theater, or in one of the storefronts. I could add screens there. And I agree that we need more bargin theaters in the Chicago area. It’s become too expensive to go to the big chains like AMC or so.
Paul: North Riverside would do well as a 2nd run place even though the Showplace 14 is nearby. LV on the other hand, it needs to be cleaned up, the parking lot re-paved, (the photo on yelp makes it look soft) and new sound systems. If not, then expect a multiplex announced somewhere at the actual Lincoln Village center.

Cinemark Fan, I understand that you wish to start your own cinema corporation someday! I hope that you can do this! If you do achieve this, the Bloomingdale Court would be a good theatre to take over and operate as a “Super-Saver” 2nd-run house.
The only two 2nd-run houses remaining that I know of are the LaGrange and the Buffalo Grove. We need more including one in the City. Would you also consider, if you are successful, taking over the Patio?
That will just leave the LIncoln Village, the North Riverside, the Glenwood and the Village North. Village also has a theatre in VA and one in TN. I think that following the demise of this place, the Lincoln Village and the North Riverside will be next. Hard to say for the Glenwood and the Village North and the two in the South.

Unless they switch to 2nd run bargin fare, the nearby Bloomingdale Court’s days are numbered. I can’t wait to visit this new complex.
This theatre’s name should be corrected to “Bloomingdale Court”.
CINEMARK FAN and I mentioned (on the Pemberton Cinema page) an on-line “pool” as to which Village Theatre will close next. I think that this one will be next. Any takers?
Village is now advertising legal movie downloads on its website.
Is it me, or is it just plain wrong for a movie theatre chain to do this?
Paul: It was built and operated by Cineplex Odeon. It opened between late 89/early 1990. I’ll have to look into it. But unless Village can clean it up and switch to 2nd run, it’ll be gone immediately after Century 16 opens at Stratford Square.

Was this a Cineplex-Odeon? Like the Golf Glen, it will probably “not” survive the opening of a new multi-plex.
Paul: My brother tells me that this place looks a lot like River Oaks 1-6 and Burnham Plaza on the inside, but that’s all he told me.

Not a great place but OK. I saw “The Glass House” there a few years back and it was fairly clean.
