The theatre reopened as the International 70 on Christmas Day, 1963. I’m currently putting together a series of books on the Denver area drive-ins and indoor theatres, including some booking histories. David – I have the premiere of Colorado Territory in my notes ! It played at the West from 6/3/49 until 6/9/49. Virginia Mayo made a personal appearance at the West on 6/3/49.

The note in your introduction about the Cooper Cameo theatre being added in February 1977 is about a year off. The Cameo opened on Christmas Day, 1975. with regards to the note above about american graffiti being among the first 4 movies shown at the colorado 4 —– the theatres opened on 6/30/73, with the day of the jackal and the man who loved cat dancing. camelot and charlotte’s web were added on 7/27/73. american graffiti had a sneak preview on 8/8/73 and began its regular engagement on 8/15/73. while american graffiti wasn’t part of the theatres' original line-up, it was officially the 5th movie shown at the colorado 4.

update to my 2/10/19 post —– after the cinderella drive-in announced its opening on 7/13/73, an ad was run 7/15 stating that the drive-in was “not completed yet” ! on 7/18/73, the cinderella was officially open for business. kenneth mitchell
