some scans of theatre tickets, including one for GCC Intracoastal, it was for Whats Love Got To Do With It, all i can remember is it was packed and hot, people were walking the aisles with babies, and i dont think there was any air con just huge extract fans in the ceiling

screen 2 in the rear stalls, with a row of double love seats at the rear, you had to move around a lot in this screen to find seats that didnt have broken springs

internally it was a standard american designed AMC 10 plex,a big square lobby, concession stand at the back, box office at the front and two mirror image wings of five screens, identical to others built at the time, sheffield crystal peaks, warrington, derby, telford, dudley, bracknell and gateshead

the granada is currently surrounded by scaffolding, all the ornate detail on the exterior has been removed and huge windows have been cut into the side walls and the front. Internally the building has been stripped back to the bare brick and at least one is not two floors have been inserted.
one interesting feature to be exposed is the original wrought iron canopy frame, i dont know if this will survive the convertion.
When finished the building will have a church on the ground floor and offices and apartments above.

nothing remains internally in Lidl, and in the furniture store there is a suspended ceiling and a smaller section of furniture for sale in what must have been the circle lounge

very little left of the balcony, the square hole in the middle must have been the stairs up to the circle? no sign of where the projection box was, the original must be being the blue cladding?

photos taken april 2009 showing the refurbished facade, the lobby space is available for rent for restaurant useage, you can look up through the glass over the front doors into this huge white space and see the original plasterwork ceiling and a large chandelier
