Seven men working on the “new” 17x38 CinemaScope screen at the Arlington back in the first week of March 1954. The theater would then run its first CinemaScope film (“The Robe”) on March 5, 1954. The Arlington Theatre was the second theater in northern Cook County to install CinemaScope.
The first CinemaScope theater in northern Cook County was the Des Plaines Theatre in Des Plaines, which was installed almost two months prior, which ran its first CinemaScope film (same movie) on January 15, 1954.
