Construction taken on July 20, 1966 with two-tone brick with the interior being done in peanut color.
The Thunderbird was originally scheduled to open on August 12, 1966 but was rescheduled to two months and nine days later due to several shipping delays on equipment. The original capacity of the main auditorium sits 1,200, and outside of the theater surrounds a parking lot with a capacity of 2,000 cars. The main screen sizes 62ft, and the Thunderbird was first owned by Duncan Kennedy.
