The Richmond Theater was in fact a one screen theater house, primarilly showing long runs of then current films though not a stranger to some rare b-film, cult and horror movies. I remember seeing EVIL DEAD at this theater when at the time, this was the only theater to show this film, and the only SI theater to shows films with the ‘NO ONE UNDER 17 ADMITTED.’ moniker. Korvettes was located in the same shopping center though closed in 1980. The Richmond Theater remained opened I believe through 1987 until it was tunred into a CRAZY EDDIE store. It was a fairly nice, clean theater for the most part.

Yes indeed, the surely is the Island Theater, once located on Richmond Ave. The theater closed in 1987 upon the opening of SI first 10-13 plex theater in Travis. Later the multiplex in Travis decreased their size to half of what they originally opened with.
