Great news about the Dolby Cinema upgrade. Couldn’t stand having to deal with parking at Easton. Especially during the month of December. Stinking Disney releasing Star Wars during the holidays…

Love catching large format shows here. Wife always jumps when the bass kicks in during the Imax intro.

Worked here from 2003-2007 and again from 2012-2013. Met some interesting characters and collected a few great stories from my time here. I feel privileged that I got to work in the projection booth when it was still 35mm film. I remember Summer Movie Camp days when we would have one copy of The Goonies spider-webbing its way through 11 projectors at one time. We did the same for Star Wars Ep 3, two copies each running through 11 projectors. We prayed to whatever god would listen that there wouldn’t be any film breaks or tension release that night.

Are ya’ll sure it was closed in 96? I could have sworn I saw Star Trek: Insurrection there back in 1998. Aside from that this place is where I fell in love with movies. It was the only place in walking distance for me at the time, before Delta 6 was built around the corner. I sank so many quarters into the Star Wars arcade cabinet that was in the arcade.

Grew up just down the street from here. Before this place came out in glorious stereo sound, we just had the 2nd run Regency in walking distance. So many great memories of this place, after class movies on Fridays (the jr high school is located up the hill, used to be a well worn path through the woods), the 97 Special Edition release of the Star Wars Trilogy, and Sundays we’d ditch service at HGBC to see something. Last movie I remember seeing at Delta was the Matrix: Reloaded on opening night. This was back when management at theatres were cool with decorating the building and letting staff dress up. I remember they’d changed all the light fixtures green and the lobby was already black carpet and walls, so it was pretty eerie. Almost right after that I got a job at the AMC at Concord, and free movies across town with surround and stadium seats was too appealing for me to ever go back there. After college I remember coming home and seeing an empty lot where it had once been. Very sad day.
