It was NOT demolished. But it did it undergo a major reconstruction since there was nothing worth saving other the the concrete walls which are original. And it is now the Downtown Independent Theater which has a separate listing on this site that needs to be either combined with – or linked to – this listing.

A major reconstruction will happen in 2012 and it will reopen as a major music venue.

Anna Mae Wong was born on the west side of Bunker Hill at 351 S. Flower in 1905, then two years later her family back moved to Chinatown at 21 Private Alley before they finally moved to 241 North Figueroa from 1910 to 1934.

I recently obtained photo by G. A. Kessler – the official photographer of Sullivan and Considine’s Los Angeles Theatre at 340 S. Spring and if I ever get a decent camera I will post it. But I will be showing it and other items concerning Spring Street at this Thursday’s Art Walk and the following night’s Fashion Night Out – Friday September 10th, 2010 6 – 10 PM – at the Continental Building at 4th and Spring.
