the RHPS they do is the film, with performers as well. The website of the troupe that handles the perfoming side of things can be found at http://www.crazedimaginations.net

they also did a one-off of Monty Python and the Holy Grail last year. it was much cooler than i would have thought, and would gladly go again.

Man, these guys run the coolest series of midnight movies twice a year. MIDNIGHT MADNESS. Once in the fall, and again in the spring. In fact, with the exception of a fluke or a one-off every now and again, this theater is the only one in San Diego cool enough to midnight flicks. you can check the schedule at landmarktheatres.com. I go to like every one of these. There are so few people in this town that actually care about their moviegoing experiences. Everybody that lives in this town, and comes to this website should come out to these flicks!

It is my unfortunate duty to report that as of the writing of this post 9/20/06 the Ken no longer uses the carbon rod projectors. They have one in the lobby right now so you can take photos, but the last film to run on them was a week or two ago. Apparently there is only one company left in the world that manufactures those carbon rods, and as less and less theaters have projectors that use them, they have become prohibitively expensive to acquire. I guess the upshot is that at least the theater is still open and running, eh? Tis truly the end of an era. What a bummer!
