The ‘tuppenny rush’ on a Saturday as children flock to see a special programme at the Star Cinema. Local children supposedly called it the Lardy presumably a contracted form of ‘la-di-da’, rhyming slang for the Star. The cinema seems to be showing ‘Aunt Sally’.
