My father told me once that the Carolina was located next to where the Hyatt Regency is now, the hyatt is at the corner of Beattie Place/College street and North Main street where the Ottaray Hotel was originally and the theatre was next to it going down towards East North Street.

actually raysson not to bust you bubble but when Star Wars opened there in fayetteville it did so at the King theatreI remember cause i was there opening weekend
I remember this theater very well as I spent many a afternoon there. On the above street view though the building the theater was in is behind that strip mall. You get a better view of it from Airport Road.
Star Trek The Motion Picture ran here first run it’s opening weekend I know. My family and I stood in line for at least 3 hours and that line was long
