On Friday 17th July 1936 Victor Jory stands on the staircase landing (with Regent General Manager Stanley N. Wright) at the premiere of Columbia’s “Mr. Deeds Goes To Town” (a film Jory wasn’t in). The actor had just arrived in Sydney to appear in the movie “Rangle River” being made at the new National Studios in Pagewood by Columbia Pictures.
