Opening Souvenir Program page 3 features a sketch of the George Street frontage. ‘Erected to the enhancement of the motion picture and allied arts – Dedicated and opened Friday March 9th 1928’. Noble intentions indeed! And in so doing, hoping perhaps to make a few bob on the side?
