Orpheum Service Directory published at the time of opening. When built it was widely regarded as an outstanding example of a multi-purpose 1930s Sydney suburban cinema. ‘The Clubroom’, later ‘The Ballroom’, in 1988 became ‘The Lounge’ – Cinema Three in the now six screen complex. Cinema Five opened in 1996 as ‘The Virgona’ - after the man who put the theater there – but has since been renamed ‘The Walsh’ after the man responsible for keeping it in operation. Thanks, Mike.
