This advertisement includes a rare use of an ‘art deco’ lettering design for the theater name. It seems like ‘steam heating’ was an innovation introduced in 1942 - very handy on cold winter nights. Cinema business was considerably better in summer months in pre-air-conditioned times, with an influx of Sydneysiders seeking the cooler conditions offered by the mountain retreat.
