Another view of the April/May 1960 demolition from the side road (Chertsey Street/Memorial Avenue). There was a boom in Sydney Service Station construction at this time, with corner sites much in demand. After 50 years the oil companies rationalized their operations, and this site was sold to become a group of single level retail shops.
