This is such a shame. I walked by a few weeks ago and noticed it was closed ( i swear I was going to The Funny Store next door!!). Besides being one of the oldest theaters around- it’s architecture is so distinct and cool, it’s neon sinage is awesome, and it’s just about the only reminder left of old school gritty New York. So much for character I guess. Yey for homogenization!

Thanks for the info Garth. I saw the article about Travis in the Advance this weekend… I wonder what they’ll do with it. It seems everything around that area is doomed to fail.

The indoor flea market was called Four Bridges.

I was always under the impression that Korvettes was where K-Mart is now. The Richmond Theatre is in the Pergament Shopping Center where Pergament used to be (now a Best Buy) and Toys R Us still stands.
The Island Theater was in the same shopping center as K-mart.

According to a fourm on SILive.com, only the outdoor shots of the Fox Plaza were used in “He Knows You’re Alone”. The indoor shots are all from the St. George Theater.
