I drove by here on Thanksgiving, and I was a little worried. Too many random people around. I can’t believe the building is still there.

I worked here from 1995 until 2000 when the theater closed. This place had great managers. It served as a “training ground” for GCC managers. We were never that busy. We didn’t even accept credit cards at the end. I was an expert at giving directions to the ATM on the other side of the mall. They never really invested much money in the place. I remember that the blue roof was busted for years. We also had an abandoned car in the lot for years. This building still sits there waiting for something to open in its place. Too bad the area is dying. Mike – I grew up at the Regency 8. I would love to see the photos.

I have been into this place as the Atlanta Peach Ballroom, and It still looks like a movie theater. The club has several different floors with different music. My guess is the theater sound helps the club. My favorite part of the club is that the bathrooms are in the front of the club just like a theater.

I worked here a few times when they were GCC. I was an “expert” cashier – I could sell movie tickets fast, and my drawer was always even… I worked at GCC gwinnett. I enjoy going here now because it reminds me off all my days working for GCC. They also serve beer and wine!

I love coming here. It’s my favorite place to see a movie. Great films and great seating. They also sell beer and wine. Lots of great restaurants too.

Thanks for posting all of the photos. I saw my first movie at this cinema. I remember seeing ET, Three Men and a Baby, Dirty Dancing and everything else. I later got a job at the Macon Mall Quad, but this theater was closer to my house so I came here often to see free movies. I also remember using that pay phone upstairs to call mom to come pick me up.

Another think I remember was the steep hill to get out of the parking lot to turn on Riverside drive. I had to make a left to go home, and I was a new driver. I hated that hill.

I was working at Regency Exchange when this place opened. It killed our business.

I worked here during High School in the late 80s. It was United Artists then. Popping corn while waiting on customers is a skill.

My favorite memory of this theater is that the seats rocked.

I worked and Managed here in the 90s. We had radios that worked throughout the mall. I remember taking change from everyone and going to the cookie store when they sold all the cookies half price afer 8:30. chick fil a sanwiches were also a dollar at closing. I remember the crowd laughing so hard during Boomerang that I was upstairs closing, and I thought a bomb had gone off or something crashed.

I loved this theater. It was so comfortable. I remember seeing Dances with Wolves here and they just cut off the movie in the middle. Time to buy more concessions!

Hello All. I worked (and Managed) at both Regency Mall theaters from 89 until 95 when I moved to Atlanta. I still keep in contact with the friends I made today.

I worked at this cinema from 1995 until it closed in 2000 as a second job. I always found that this cinema had good management, but was never given any money for renevations. When the theater closed, we still did not accept credit cards. This was a great 2nd income.
