The drive-in, located on 10 acres south of the city limits, included a children’s playground, a snack bar and patio with metal chairs, modern restrooms, individual car speakers, a 35’ by 45’ screen, and a brand-new ramp system wi th numbered rows and a red light that flashed when a row was full. The snack bar offered hot dogs, popcorn, cold drinks, candy, and coffee. There was even a “bottle warmer” to encourage parents to bring their babies to the show with them. In 1952 Shipman Bullard opened the Ship Drive-In on North First, with features comparable to those of the Sky-Vu.

I forgot I also saw ZOMBIE the Lucio Fulci Horror Classic AKA Dawn of the Dead 2 or Zombie 2.It was released in July 1980 so I can assume that it was around that time when I saw it.

I remember the Century 4 Drive In very well. It was located on the Arlington/Grand Prarie Texas line off Division/Hwy 80/Main and Great Southwest Parkway. The train tracks were right across the street. Not far from the strip of bars called The County Line. I remember seeing the horror film Friday The 13 and putting 2 of my friends in the trunk and sneeking them in (ticket for 1 please)!

Oh and I forgot Jekyll & Hyde’s Disco across from Picadilly Cafeteria. I think the disco was ran by an Asian couple and we drank and danced. It seemed it was a little quiet most of the time we went in there.

Forum 303 AMC Theaters and mall have been demolished and are history. I have fond memories as a teen going to the mall, the movies and the arcade. Does anyone remember Straw Hat Pizza,at least I think thats what it was or so I have been told. Orange Julius,Chess King,Mitchells. The midnight movies Dawn of the Dead,The Rocky Horror Picture Show,The Song Remains the Same. The Rocky Horror Gang all dressed up would come over to Dennys on 360 and Randol Mill in the early morning hours after the showing at the theater.I was a graveyard bus boy and remember the make up.I wish now that I had made friends and talked with those people.
