Cheap land. Regency Mall. Lesson learned: don’t put a bunch of concrete on top of swampland. Old Mont Ward wing appears to be separated by an easy foot from the rest of the Mall.

Saw Cocoon here! Walked across the cemetary. And Star Trek! And “Never Say Never, Again” when Sean Connery reemerged! Taco Viva my favorite, though mom and sis preferred Orange Julius, but we agreed on the corn dogs. I did time at Musicland, until Augusta Mall expanded. Then, I was a Sam Goody girl. Remember the days of Glenn Hills on Friday and Butler on Saturday? Snagged more folks for shoplifting at Augusta Mall in a week’s time than Regency for a month. Although, I appreciate not getting punched or stabbed at Augusta Mall during the confrontation.

Excited to read through these scribes. My most impactful memory…being a virgin girl from south Augusta to visit fancy NHills to watch “Basic Instinct” with new beau. Oh, gees. Balcony(?) cover was not enough. Wanted to crawl under the seat. Scrolled through scribes and saw “koi pond.” Remember that pond. Mention of NHills theater made me remember that I got my first pair of hiking boots (had to buy from boys' section) at JB White’s in 1996, compliments of my grandmother. Wow. CT has really resurrected some memories. THANK YOU! Wish I had more to contribute than nostalgic recollection. Now…on to Regency Mall and that fancy cinema that got built behind there…

Know those towering steel forms and the white Weis scipt over chocolate backround very well! First experience I remember at Weis drive-in was mom treating wee me and the family dog to our first drive-in movie. So excited but more cozy in the goose down pillows. Also remember finding myself on the abandoned space to snag a smooch (literally) with my college boyfriend between family visits. Looking up “Six Pack Annie” after this post…

WEIS! Opted for ET on AMC in the background tonight. Remembered where I watched ET first…WEIS! Same for Bambi (disturbing school field trip) and Tron, and probably others, if the mental sediments were stirred. Remember digging for change to play the Tron video machine (as called back then) in the lobby. Wow…what a flashback. I’ve only watched ET, in full, twice…second time at RO film fest in Athens. So happy I found this website! Mom still lives down the road! Jennifer
