Park cinema 232 Hither Green Lane was acquired in May 1930 by D.J. James. Closed on 30th August 1930 for modernisation by cinema Architect Leslie H. Kemp who designed a new facade with fire escape from projection box, enlargement of the circle to 205 seats and installation of Western Electric Sound System. Main Contractors William F. Blay Ltd., Pixton Seating Ltd. Re-opening nine days later on 8th September 1930. The Park finally closed as a cinema on 14th December 1957. Details from Leslie Kemp Library Collection.
