Photograph dated 17th December 1965 of the premier “Lady L” starring Sophia Loren and Paul Newman. The Empire was now owned by Mecca, who used the former stalls area for dancing and above the old circle as the Empire cinema. Even at this late period people still arrived to see the stars arrive for the premier although not so many.
