Yes, the projection booth is still manually operated. We have a Potts 3 tier 52" platter system. We use a 3000 watt bulb with a Simplex XL projector, a Dolby CP45 processor, 3 900 watt QSC amps with JBL speakers behind the screen and 8 EV surround speakers.

The original box office is not used. When we did the remodel in 1996, so we could open the theatre after being closed for 15+ years, we put a box office window to where the ticket seller can assist in the snack bar. You still purchase your tickets prior to entering the theatre. We did this to try and keep the overhead / payroll down.

The 1942 photo does show the original Roxy Theatre in Eatonville. That building is now the home of Eatonville Furniture. The current Roxy Theatre construction started in 1941 and opened in October of 1942. When the new Roxy opened the one in the photo was closed as they were owned by the same people. I am one of the current owner / operators of the Roxy Theatre in Eatonville.
