I remember a Sat a buddy and I started watching Star Wars around 2pm and watched one showing after the other. They never made us leave. That would have been around 1979 just before Empire was released. Only saw one film as I recall upstairs and that was a re release of American Graffiti around same time. I recall theatre having a bit of a birdhouse feel to it by the mid 80s.

You guys are probably a little older than me but not by much . I so enjoyed reading this thread. I tell my son who is film buff like me about Ray Bentley THE SCREAM MACHINE AAAAHHH…and the “a movie SO disturbing we will give you a free pass if you sit thru the whole thing !!” Lol…fill in the film ..so funny I remember the passes being handed out as we walked in . …the great films I saw for the first time at The Ridge. Thanks for sharing .

So wonderful to have found this piece. My earliest memory of the Willow Lawn is 2001:A Space Odyssey. I was 3 and only remember flashes of my parents taking me. But there were many others thru the years ..True Grit , The Cowboys , The Pink Panther , Road Warrior Hamburger Hill, Stir Crazy …and more …One of the main Cinemas of my childhood.
