This, I must stress, is NOT the interior of the King’s but of ABC’s old fashioned Doncaster theatre which was eventually replaced by a new build stadium venue in 1967.
My quest over the years to find interior images of Bishop Auckland King’s Hall has proven fruitless. It was the only one of the town’s cinemas I never visited (apart from once in the restaurant for ‘Afternoon Tea’) but I imagine that it would have looked similar to this. Perhaps someone can advise whether or not it was?
