  • <p>Photo: CLIFF CARSON.  Interesting how an important film like Doctor Dolittle would have only two screenings a day.  The film was in it’s first run reserved seat 70mm engagement and only ran a 152 minutes.  Shorter than many films today.   It’s widely considered a box office failure but only because it cost so much.    In reality its grosses were high and the film was in the top 20 box office successes of the year.</p>
