Three Fountains 4

Last weekend of operations. Movie theatre lasted 14 years. Guess making fourplexes in 1986 was still common for AMC.

This area was loaded with theatres that all were ultimately consolidated into larger more modern theaters. I would love to have seen it in it’s heyday. AMC had this and the Fiesta Village 6 nearby; and Harkins had the Poco Fiesta 4 and the Superstition/Fiesta 5 nearby. 19 screens made irrelevant once Harkins Superstition 25 opened, quickly followed by Arizona Mills 24 and AMC Mesa Grand 24 (now 14) a few years later.

Too bad AMC does not advertise in newspapers these days. They wonder why they have a drop in admissions. At least they can run ad listing on Fri/Sat in key markets. I bet business would pick up. Like In San Francisco CA Century/Cinemark & Landmark Theatres still have movie listing ads in the papers but AMC & Regal and many independent cinemas don’t bother. Guess what theatres the tourists go to? Thanks Ride for the ad listings.
