A View across the street of The Canterbury theatre on the cnr of Maling Road and Theatre Place in 1913.

A man is standing on the corner in shirt-sleeves with the theatre to his back. On the wall to his left & right are day-bill posters for Captain Scott screening at The Canterbury Theatre.

A check of The Box-hill Reporter newspaper reveals that the Canterbury Picture Theatre was filled to over-flowing long before 8 o'clock on Saturday April 5, 1913 for the screening of a series of films on Captain Scott of The Antarctic.
