Temple Drive-In

The Temple Drive-In opened May 30, 1952 with Danny Kaye in “On the Riviera”. By 1955 it was operated by John Shade & Milgram Theatres. It operated until 1985. In it’s last days it was known for X-rated fare. The projection booth and refreshment stand remain. The screen was removed in 2005.

The Temple Drive-in can’t be overlooked so here are a few facts. It parked 300 cars,so it must have been enlarged if the above post is true.It was owned by Allied.

July 2014 Google Street view shows the ticket booth still there and the marquee there, but it has fallen down and is rather mangled.

I Remembered One Intermission Reel From The Late 1950s/Early 1960s With A Few Local Merchants Including A Golf And Games (The Music Is The Same As The 1960 Rialto Theatre Grand Reopening In Morrilton, Arkansas Shown Here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8zqBpVL6yEM&t=2s With The Same Bolded Avenir Text As The Opening Message Mainly The Address To The Golf Place Including Some HGS Text But The Background Is Blank) And A Local Gas Station (With Unknown Different Music) But The Film Is Off-Colored. Instead Of A Black And White, It Was Sepia Or A Bit Yellow-Orange Mix.
