Opening on May 24, 1950 with Bill Williams in “Blue Grass of Kentucky”. This was one of the larger drive-ins in Kentucky, with space for 600 cars. It as closed in late-1972 or early-1973, There is no trace of the theatre left on the property.

Address is wrong. 350 Nashville RD, Bowling Green, KY 42101 is the address for the Riverside. The address for the Church/police station is 3219 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101
Mike,The Riverside Drive In was located on the 31W-BY Pass on the same side as The Little Brown Jug separated by Riverview Dr.Before I-65 was constructed people from the North would travel US 31W South on what we now call the Old Louisville Rd.They would come to the 4 way stop at State St. and turn left onto what we now call the By-Pass.I feel certain that’s where the confusion is,it was probably called the Nashville Rd.the Lost River Drive In also was located on the Nashville Rd.in the vicinity of the State Police Barracks more so than Hilvue Heights.I hope i’ve helped some.Larry Cassady

Why was it called Lost River?
Because it was located just south of the Lost River Cave which is a 7 mile cave system that has the Lost River, which originates outside of the cave somewhere, flowing through it. It is a tourist attraction.
