Sayre Theater. lights

The Sayre Theatre opened on December 31, 1914. It was designed by the firm of T.I. Lacey & Son. By 1950 it was operated by Comerford Theaters Corp. The Sayre Theatre was made into a triplex in 1997.

The original auditorium seats 350 and the two smaller auditoriums seat approximately 75 each. The theatre is used for both movies and as a performing arts center.

I’ve been here one wonderful Christmas to see the nutcracker. I loved it!! It was very beautiful place.

Today’s Sunday Philadelphia Inquirer front section has a photo of theater manager Jessica Saviano holding 3 huge bags of popcorn in front of the marquee & facade with the caption “While the small movie theaters run by Bradford County’s art council remained shuttered, Sayre Theatre manager Jessica Saviano sells popcorn curbside for $10 a bag.
