The Nickelodeon Theater opened in 1905 as the very first movie house in Paris and lasted less than six months. However since then the city has always had theaters. It was located on the south side of Clarksville Street in a small building just east of the town square. The building was destroyed in a 1916 firestorm that practically leveled the downtown area.
