Shore Theatre (Former Armory Building) Milford Delaware

Originally built as the Armory Hall in Milford. In 1946, it was re-designed by architect Arthur Paul Hoppe into the Shore Theatre, opening on October 28, 1946. All seating was on a single floor, and the decorative style of the auditorium was rather plain, but had side-wall light fittings with a maritme theme. It was still open in 1956, but had closed by 1957.

There was balcony seating on each side of the projection booth. An independently owned theater with about 425 seats, it featured many live stage shows during its heyday as a way of competing with the formidable Schine’s New Milford Theater around the corner with its 1,600 seats.
