The three-story Alice Theatre was launched next to the Citizen’s National Bank in downtown Hope, Arkansas on October 6, 1921. Owner C.H. Crutchfield named the venue for his daughter, Alice. The $200,000 theatre with its terra cotta front was said to be the finest between St. Louis and Dallas. The architects were Witt, Seibert & Halsey of Texarkana. The third floor housed the Alice Hotel. A fire totally destroyed the theatre and hotel on April 3, 1922 with the fire starting on the second floor of the building.

The Saenger Theatre was built on its site also later burning down.
