The Skyline Drive-In launched here on June 1, 1950 with Fennis O'Keefe in “The Great Dan Patch”. It was operated by the Indianapolis Co-Operative Theatres Circuit. The Skyline Drive-In competed locally with the Shelby Drive-In which went of business and was abandoned in the 1960’s.

In 1971 by Elmer and Jean DeWitt who would move the Skyline Drive-In to the Shelby Drive-In location and this would be razed. The location would become a car lot and later was home to a Big Lots Department store in the 21st Century. At its new location, the Skyline Drive-In continued into the 21st Century.
