Vilma Theatre

The Vilma Theatre opened on May 5, 1928 and seated 900. The Vilma was a nice neighborhood house. It had a pseudo Spanish exterior. The interior was decorated in a Spanish Mission style. It closed in 1973 as a movie theatre, then became a church for a short time before returning to the entertainment business by becoming the La Fountaine Rouge Catering Hall. The original marquee is still in use.

It is now the Life Music Christian Fellowship, and the name and website both suggest that the emphasis on performance is still strong.

I passed this former Theater several times. It’s quite obvious that it was formerly a Movie house. Its very close to HERRING RUN PARK.
