B & B Twin Drive-In

The Twin Drive-In was opened on November 24, 1965 with Elvis Presley in “Harum Scarum”, Jay North in “Zebra in the Kitchen” & Gregory Peck in “Mirage” on Screen 1 and James Caan in “Red Line 7000”, Tony Randall in “Fluffy” & Marlon Brando in “One Eyed Jacks” on Screen 2. Today it screens a double bill on each of its two screens. The two screens have a total capacity of 1,400 cars. There are late shows on Friday and Saturday with a repeat screening of the first feature. Audio is provided through FM radio.

The Twin Drive-In was operated by the independent Globe Cinemas company and operates during summer months. It was taken over by B & B Theatres in 2015.

My 1969 IMPA erroneously lists the “Twin I & II” under Kansas City MO, capacity 1700. That error persisted through at least the 1976 edition. The 1982 edition was more accurate, listing it in Independence with 2 x 850 capacity.

The marquee is seen at the begining of an episode of the tv series “American Pickers”( Cowzilla in Colorado).
