The Scott Theatre was opened January 28, 1959 with Frank Sinatra in “Some Came Running”. It was converted intro a triple screen theatre in September 1973. It was closed in 1981. It reopened November 7, 1986 and closed in 1987.

What is happening with the Scott Theater? If it up for sale or is the city of Odessa going to demolish it for the convention center they want to build downtown?

This theatre opened on January 28th, 1959, not February 1st, 1947. Grand opening ad in the photo section and below:

2 screens on September 12th, 1973 and three on September 27th, 1973. Grand opening ad in photo section.
