The Hiland Theater opened in January 1925. The theater had approximately 400 seats when it was a movie theater. It closed as a theater in 1980. The theater has a balcony that sat 100 people and is not in use currently. There was a “crying room” for noisy children right above the balcony and to the right of the projection booth.

Now the Foursquare Gospel Church, the original theater seats have been removed and the floor has been leveled. Part of the main auditorium has been remodeled for church classrooms. The screen is intact.

The outside of the theater is intact except for the name “Hiland Theater” which is gone but the some of the original neon is still there. One of the church members said their goal is to restore the outside of the theater and to eventually show movies once a week.

The name of this theatre is the HILAND, with an I, not a y. It opened in January 1925.
