Nearby Theaters
The Park Drive-In opened in 1949. It was first located at 2400 E. Washington Street. It operated there until 1973. It then moved to its new location at 2301 County Drive where it continued to operate until 1985.
The Park Drive-In had a capacity for 500 cars. The Rock Church of Petersburg occupies this property now and continues to use the marquee from the Park Drive-In.

it became a xxx drive in for a while before it closed.
i was a construction worker at the time and helped tear it down.

I saw movies here when my father was stationed at Ft. Lee (1964 – 1967). I remember all the kids playing on the playground (in front of the big screen) as dark approached. This drive-in was responsible for my life-long love of Orange Crush.
