After a September 7, 1938 press screening, the public gets its chance the next night, September 8, 1938 to the Penn Newsreel Theatre across from Penn Station. Just four months later, the Penn makes an abrupt change to repertory films. And two weeks later, in late January the theatre is shuttered with mechanics liens on equipment, mirrors and other fixtures. The theatre is demo’d just months later.
