could this have been known as the victoria theatre at some point… http://caprioconnections.com/pictures/statue1.html “Victoria Theatre, 257 S. Ornage Ave. Newark, the home of refined Italian Vaudeville and the best Italian features, every Saturday and Sunday, Week days English and best Photo Plays” stumbled upon this while trying to make sense of an ad on the back wall of the Adams Theatre View link

A 1936 NJ Supreme Court case mentioned that the Mira Theater Corp. operated the Congress on Orange Avenue and the Essex on Springfield Avenue.

The Congress is now the Clara Muhammmad School. The building is still standing. Function should be changed to school.
