The Lyric Theater in Honesdale, PA. was opened on December 31, 1907 with the play “The Lion and the Mouse”. It began screening movies in the 1910’s. On March 16, 1920 it was taken over by the Comerford Theatres chain, becoming a full-time movie theater. It was destroyed by fire on March 23, 1961.
